CPM professional learning is a flexible, hybrid model that comprises both Live Events either in person or virtually, AND On-Demand modules. Participants choose how to engage to best meet their needs. The various components have different time commitments, however, the total time commitment to complete the Foundations Series is approximately 55 hours. The Foundations Series begins with live events before school starts and follow-up sessions throughout the school year. Follow-up sessions include scheduled live events AND on-demand modules completed at one's own pace.
Regardless of how participants choose to participate, they can expect 25-30 hours before the start of the school year, 10-15 hours in the fall, and another 10-15 hours in the spring. How participants spread this time out is up to them. Participants could choose to attend summer Live Events in-person and then attend the school year follow-up events virtually, or vice versa.
While Live Events will have certificates issued with the seat time, these hours are more difficult to determine for on-demand modules. Certificates issued after completion of the on-demand modules will have hours listed that are the approximate hours it will take a participant to complete. Some participants may work through the modules more quickly than others. CPM encourages participants to engage with the content in the modules within Professional Learning Communities (PLC) at their school or district, or that they form with other participants they meet in CPM professional learning activities.
Below is a table with the components of the Foundations for Implementation Series (FFI) and approximate time allotments. Please note the on-demand modules may take participants more or less than the approximate times. In addition, the hours spent in on-demand modules are reduced for participants who participate in person because some of that content is completed within the in-person event. The certificates will state the same number of hours regardless of the format for the Live Event the participant registered in. Instructional Modules have 2 hours assigned to them, while Content Modules have 4 hours assigned to them.
